Nice to Meet You!
I'm Cristina! I was born in Madrid, Spain, immigrated to Australia and later to America. I was always interested in the arts. From a young age, I would bug my mom to teach me how to sew and crochet. At 9, we moved to Queensland, Australia for the second time. In part, due to my language barrier, I excelled at math and used my creative abilities to bridge the communication gap. I loved to draw cartoons, and crochet. My friends at school liked the items I made for myself, and would ask me to make things for them. I would make items on the weekend and give it to them on Monday. This was the beginning of my entrepreneurial spirit.
After high school, I furthered my creative learning by completing a college cartooning course. Later, we moved back to Spain, where I worked for several years as a civilian at Torrejon Air Base - a United States Air Force base near Madrid, Spain. After moving to the US, I worked in the international departments in various fields such as medical, legal, investment management, and consumer goods, and earned a Bachelors degree in Management from Kenessaw State University. Go Owls!
The arts have been an important part of my life - both personally and professionally. Personally, I love all things handmade and very much appreciate the time and creativity that goes into any handmade creation. Professionally, the problem-solving skills I have learned from creating free-hand patterns have helped me think out of the box and in communicating ideas.
I am so happy you are visiting my blog! Enjoy crafting
